Area Manager - High Demand Markets Competitiveness Team

The Area Manager is responsible for leading and developing the newly formed centralized phone based, Competitiveness Team. Together with their team, the Area Manager will focus on our top demanded destinations across EMEA and all segments.

As an Area Manager, you are required to train and coach the team that will support delivery of end-to-end competitiveness goals, by contacting existing lodging partners and successfully setting competitive and compelling conditions for our loyal final customers.

In doing so, you will work on team ramp-up, training, and internal alignment. The ultimate goal will be to lead with extreme agility a performing team that will need to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, moving quickly from one market to another and potentially being able to adapt quickly itself to different signals. Ability to work and effectively cooperate with other teams is crucial.
 

What you’ll do:

  • Effectively drive team performance, handle working relationships, team’s productiveness, employee engagement and morale, building an environment fitting EG Values

  • Responsible for continuously improving team productiveness & effectiveness through coaching interactions

  • Developing skills & strengthening capabilities of team members

  • Collaborate with other Account Management teams that share ownership of the top demanded destinations on strategic and business development initiatives and ongoing operational issues. These could include, for example, commercial items, like market insights and trends, revenue enhancement opportunities, aggregator strategies, etc.

  • Will need to lead and support on change management

  • Provide input to senior management in developing effective and scalable solutions to improve process efficiencies

  • Promote Expedia’s full suite of product offerings to lodging partners and educate them on the full use of our products and tools

  • Lead the execution of overall business plans to meet or exceed key targets, goals and/or strategic objectives set by leadership

  • Other reasonable duties, as assigned


 

Who you are:

  • A passionate sales focused people leader, a positive challenger and coach with Growth Mindset, ability to drive Change Management and added value from scratch

  • Fluency in English and at least one of Spanish/French/German or Italian required

  • 3- 6 years of B2B or B2C sales, client services or account management experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Knowledge of SalesForce, Tableau and other CRM/BI platforms is a strong plus
