Expedia Group’s Global Marketing Communications team is dedicated to developing and completing innovative and effective global marketing across our family of brands. Within this organization, the Creative team is Expedia Group’s center of creative excellence, and is responsible for developing high-impact, iconic and culturally relevant creative.

As a Creative Director, Content, you will play a critical role in defining our creative strategy, specifically crafting award-winning branded content.

What you’ll do:

  • Conceive and implement campaign concepts, produce compelling narratives, and develop big ideas for how our brands value propositions and positioning comes to life

  • Partner across the company—with brand strategists, product and technology professionals, producers, customer engagement specialists and more—to develop a deep understanding of our brands

  • Help lead and mentor the Creative team on delivering digital storytelling excellence across all social and digital platforms

  • Collaborate with internal Creative Directors and influence Art Directors/Copywriters/Designers to concept ideas, co-directing teams to create industry shaping work across all major digital touchpoints

  • Support the ECD, Global Content in creating original content series, with narratives that can scale for longform, docuseries and short form video

  • Use insights that resolve strategic problems and create simplicity in storytelling

  • Present work to senior creative leadership and executives and act as our Content guardian to support ECD, Global Content

  • Evangelize for the power of branded content narratives to shift perception and drive results internally

  • Comfortable leading and influencing decision-making with external partners and agencies, as well as the extended global team at Expedia Group

  • We are looking for candidates who can work flexibly and fluidly, build trust with others, and see the big picture

Who you are:

  • 12+ years as a Creative in agency or in-house environments; experience crafting branded, entertainment and social content for global lifestyle or cultural-impact brands is essential

  • Deep craft experience in your creative field with highly developed ability to develop strategic thinking and develop creative concepts that result in compelling content and creative narratives

  • Ability to creative direct all Creative work, whether through external agencies, freelance vendors, or internal production resources, ensuring best-in-class work is delivered on time and within budget

  • Experience acting as brand client with large agencies and ability to direct agency work

  • Demonstrate the ability to build and lead global teams in a self-directed way

  • Experience developing Organic and Paid digital ideas and assets across all platforms and channels

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver presentations that articulate ideas in a compelling manner with a clean and elevated aesthetic

  • Deep experience and appetite to create industry shaping digital Creative and narratives that create talkability in social

  • Demonstrated experience of working successfully with multifunctional groups, both internally and externally, in fast-paced environments with changing direction

  • Demonstrated experience of producing Content that can flex from longform editorially rich film to pithy, conversational social assets

  • A Creative all-rounder, who understands the end-to-end process for Content and is part Creative, part Maker and can take a brief and run with it

  • An ‘ideas person’ who is comfortable working as part of an international, multi-site team and confident to work in a self-directed way
