Data Engineer III (FinTech)

The FinTech team within Global Finance Technology is looking for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with big data technologies, cloud platforms, and data reporting tools. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring that data is reliable, scalable, and accessible.

What you'll do:

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, process and analyze large datasets

• Work with big data technologies to manage, and query vast amounts of data

• Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation

• Implement high-quality Engineering solutions to support the FinTech automation effort across finance

• Work across FinTech with other Sr. Managers and engineers for optimal solution collaboration

• identify areas of improvement, new technologies to implement and advocate to the team

• Build new solutions throughout finance

• Self-starter that enjoys and takes pride in the engineering work of their team

• You will work closely with stakeholders and provide planning support for the FinTech roadmap

• Identify areas where efficiency and process improvement are needed and implement effective solutions

Who you are:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent

• 5+ years of proven work experience in the field of Data Engineering

• Extensive experience with Python and SQL

• Deep understanding of relational databases, including MSSQL, Oracle, Teradata

• Strong hands-on experience with Starburst/Trino or similar data query engines

• Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure on AWS

• Familiar with high volume transactional systems, microservice design, continuous delivery, automated deployments, and related engineering practices

• Experience in delivering automated solutions that improve platform health, security, cost-efficiency, alerting and monitoring

Good to haves:

• Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau or Looker

• Experience with VBA for automating tasks and processes

• Familiarity with ServiceNow for IT service management

• Experience with JIRA for project management and issue tracking

• Experience with RPA tools such as UiPath

• Familiarity with data transformation tools like Alteryx

• Experience with JupyterHub for collaborative data science

• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools like Airflow
