Expedia Group’s eCommerce Platform is the core engine powering $100+ billion in transactions across the company’s travel ecosystem. We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the business finance support to the eCommerce division.


This role will provide finance leadership to the eCommerce division which is critical to the success of building Expedia’s new Travel Platform. This role collaborates across all levels of the organization and will partner with the business to drive commercial discussions forward. You will operate as part of a globally distributed team that thrives in a fast-pasted environment.

This key role will lead a sizable team to provide both FP&A and commercial Finance support to drive insights, enable business decisions, provide oversight of financial performance measurements, help improve financial literacy across business teams, and finance support to key commercial and externalization initiatives. This role will also be the finance owner of the Managed Rates space which covers a significant portion of Expedia’s Cost of Sales (COS).

What you'll do:

  • Lead the eCommerce finance team to serve as the key finance partner supporting eCommerce leadership team and other key internal partners with financial insight, operational support, and analysis
  • Lead a team as the Center of Excellent (COE) for Managed Rates across Expedia, which include merchant fees, EVC, chargebacks, breakage, and supplier adjustments
  • Provide key commercial finance support to eCommerce related initiatives including commercialization and externalization of our payment, fraud, and other eCommerce capabilities
  • Lead monthly business reviews, outlooks and quarterly planning cycle, covering financial and non-financial metrics, and performance against stated objectives
  • Develop a shared understanding of business performance drivers and key operational metrics, ability to consume multiple data sources and identify interdependencies
  • Develop business cases, post-mortem evaluations, and identifying process gaps, exhibiting a drive for improvement
  • Collaborate with members of other functional teams within the company, including: Accounting, Procurement, Corporate Finance, Controllers, Product Development, Portfolio, and other P&L owners to evaluate cross-business projects
  • Influence decision-making to ensure business partners meet financial objectives
  • Lead and develop a team of finance professionals

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in business finance, commercial finance or FP&A, with minimum 6 years of experience in leading a high performing finance team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to participate in C-level presentations and work with all levels of management, across multiple organizations globally
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision without authorization
  • Highly analytical with excellent understanding of business P&L
  • Proven proactive and outcome driven approach towards business problems and process improvements
  • High level of intellectual curiosity that drives strong sense of ownership and desire for continuous improvement
  • Ability to interpret and present data in a visually compelling format to diverse partners
  • Ability to lead cross functional projects and processes
  • Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Oracle and Hyperion a plus
  • Payments or eCommerce related experience a plus
