Senior Finance Analyst, Commercial Finance

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Finance team supporting the TAAP division of EPS. TAAP (Travel Agency Affiliate Programme) is Expedia's online booking tool that serves thousands of travel advisors across the world. Significant investment has recently been made into multiple product launches and enhancements in TAAP, resulting in a truly exciting period of high growth for the division.
This is a key role, reporting to the Director of TAAP Commercial Finance, supporting the Senior Commercial Finance Manager of TAAP.
The successful candidate will business partner with the regional AMs & RDMs, providing key insights and helping the team to unlock a range of commercial opportunities. You will be productive, proactive, influential and dynamic with the ability to add significant value across the business!
What you'll do:
Modelling, review and tracking of short-term incentives and key partner deals
Produce detailed forecasting of GBV, Commissions, GSA costs and marketing spend in line with corporate planning cycles
Review, approve and produce reporting on promotional agency tier upgrades weekly
Review and approve Deferred Payments requests
Produce weekly trading report, leading weekly discussions with Sales to ensure market context & insights are captured in commentary for distribution at an Executive level
Produce monthly profitability reporting, highlighting areas of opportunity & risk
Use BI tools to improve and standardize reporting to Sales & wider EPS teams to drive greater accountability and insight
Core business partner to TAAP AMs/RDMs, using commercial analysis to help shape strategies for key markets
Support TAAP Marketing, through budget management and business casing opportunities
Help to develop and implement improved reporting, processes and controls to help scale the TAAP business
Foster highly collaborative relationships across TAAP and support the wider finance team to meet key deliverables as necessary
Perform ad-hoc analysis to support regional and global commercial projects and initiatives as well as deep-dives into specific topics to support the growth of the business
Who you are:
3-5+ years work experience in a similar analytical role
Bachelors degree, 2:1 or above and strong academic background or equivalent related professional experi
Proven ability to actively manage workload; deliver to deadlines and against rapidly changing priorities
A self-starter with proactive ‘can-do’ work ethic and strong initiative to identify current and potential problems and determine the best solution
Someone who thrives in large, global, fast paced organizations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong Excel modelling skills and experience working with large data sets
Knowledge of BI tools (e.g. Tableau) and data extraction via SQL will be highly beneficial
Ability to present data & insights in a visually compelling format to financial and non-finance audiences
Strong qualitative and quantitative financial skills
Strong spreadsheet, data-management, and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail
Experience in building complex models for both ongoing analysis and financial projections
Demonstrated understanding of financials and budgeting processes
Experience implementing effective controls and processes
Able to lead and influence decisions across various internal functions
Uses good judgment and makes decisions as necessary
Extremely organized with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects within tight timelines
