Senior HR Manager - UK & Ireland

Are you looking to join a mighty team of HR professionals that creates positive employee experiences, inspired by our passion for travel and technology, to ignite our high-performance culture? Are you driven by excellence and collaboration?

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Manager to join our innovative People Team in London. You will report to the Director of Regional HR Northern Europe and have exposure to multi-site jurisdictions across the UK and Ireland.

At Expedia Group, we adopted a hybrid work model, giving you the best of both worlds – in-person connection and flexibility – to empower you to do your best work each day.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide employee relations support across Northern Europe with your main focus being the UK and engage with our in-house Legal team where appropriate

  • Identify and address site themes related to employee engagement, retention and help drive local management teams to moments that matter for employees

  • Facilitate and drive business improvement by diagnosing and identifying improved approaches to employee relations and workforce issues (investigations, disputes, complaints, disciplinary issues, terminations, etc.)

  • Leverage data and adopt an agile "test and learn" approach

  • Working in a multicultural and diverse environment, you will have opportunities to lead and/or participate in regional and global strategic projects. You will partner with other HR functions (compensation, benefits, HR business partners, talent management) to drive company-wide programs including performance management, change management etc. and ensure local relevance of global HR products

  • Develop manager capability - Build a proactive culture of performance management by actively engaging with managers and employees to continuously raise the bar on performance

  • Contribute to site leadership – Support the HR Director and engage with site leaders to understand the local team agendas, identify common themes, and arrive at local people support strategy and drive the ‘employee experience’

  • Oversee and administer proactive programs, procedures, and plans related to work practices and compliance

Who you are:

  • Bachelors’ or masters’ degree in human resources; or equivalent related professional experience

  • We're looking for a candidate with experience as an HR professional who can thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced, evolving work environment and are excited about helping this function through change

  • Must have a thorough expertise of the employment practices for the UK market, and at the same time have proven experience figuring out how to navigate in unfamiliar areas, using past experience. Experience supporting other countries is a plus but not necessary (in-house legal team available to support)

  • Enjoy employee relations and are able to drive your cases to completion autonomously, balancing all perspectives

  • Must have superior communication and collaboration skills as well as a can-do attitude with a desire to solve/remove roadblocks

  • Proven experience leading and coaching managers through sensitive employment matters such as grievances, disputes, under-performance, complaints, and investigations

  • Experience influencing and partnering with other functions to accomplish results, even when there is no direct oversight

  • Multi-national experience and working with remote teams is a plus
