Senior Manager, Research Operations
Within the Experience Design (XD) org, Design Operations exists to help consistently deliver high-quality design at scale, streamline our processes, orchestrate communication and ceremonies, develop our practices, drive professional development, and serve as a catalyst for how we achieve our vision of an experience-led culture across the entire organization.
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Research Operations to take a lead role in establishing our user research operations capability. In this position, you will collaborate closely with our UX Research team and other Experience Design leaders to define, build and maintain an operational infrastructure that will serve as the backbone for XD research activities across a broad spectrum of products and services. You will help strategize and implement thoughtful research processes, systems, and resources. The outcome of your work will be tangible improvements in the rigor, ease, visibility, and value of user research at Expedia Group.

What you’ll do:
Partner closely with the Research Leadership Team on scaling Expedia’s UX Research offering
Establish new programs and build upon existing research activities to grow research and enable the business to gain insights in a variety of ways
Maintain team resources, including research templates, training materials, playbooks, and regular updates. Own a database of cross-channel product feedback
Own & scale participant recruitment across the team while ensuring all recruiting is done in compliance with Expedia Group policies
Create alignment across research activities by developing standardized approaches
Build strong relationships across the Experience Design organization with business partners, technology partners, and leadership
Research, recommend and manage research tools that are best suited to support our practices and team needs
Facilitate cross-team and cross-divisional movement of talent as a tool for building skills, capabilities, and crafting visibility to talent
Ensure that our research is legal, ethical, and in full compliance with data handling policies and practices
Actively engage with legal, security, procurement and facility teams to support operations/programs/studies
Source and evaluate research vendors to support operations/programs/studies
Who you are:
5-7+ years of experience working in related UX/Research, operational or program management roles
Deep understanding for user experience design, research, and content strategy processes and practices to a level that enables strong collaboration with peers
You have established deep relationships and can influence multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders across the organization
You have demonstrable management experience partnering and building bridges with stakeholders, teams, and agencies
Experience with research tools, such as Qualtrics, UserTesting, dScout, User Interviews and similar is preferred
Experienced People Leader who has led teams to drive collaborative decisions while developing an autonomous team to drive business results
