The Content Platform provides a portfolio of products to revolutionize traveler experiences throughout the customer journey across Expedia Group (EG)’s diverse portfolio of brands and lines of business.

We assemble, maintain and distribute content assets including Media, Text, Reviews, Property Data, Geo, Destination, and more. Through innovative knowledge-based systems and machine learning models we synthesize unique insights to answer questions about travel. Our configurable selection and aggregation capabilities enable a marketplace where diverse customers are matched with relevant partner offers.

In this role you will collaborate with a wide network of partners across the organization to deliver capabilities that improve client and customer experience and add value to our marketplaces.

You will lead the teams designing our knowledge-based systems working closely with our taxonomy team to super charge and realize our ambition in multiple EG wide critical initiatives including personalization and unified taxonomy. You will work with business partners, engineers, designers, and data scientists to tackle complex problems, and you will see the results of your work rapidly making a positive impact on our customers and our business.

What you’ll do:

  • Define and implement the product strategy for content knowledge-based capabilities including unified taxonomy, affinities, and attribute stores

  • Optimize for impact by collaboratively partnering with counterparts from all corners of Expedia Group

  • Using data, customer empathy and understanding middle user needs, you will make clear decisions to focus energy on the highest priorities

  • Gather detailed business opportunities from internal clients and turn them into the epics and stories that set the direction for engineering teams

  • Represent your customers’ interests to all levels of the organization, considering their needs at all stages of the product lifecycle

  • Support team growth by recognizing staff potential and guiding employees in developing skills by recommending appropriate training and sources of information

  • Create an environment for team effectiveness, where strengths are known and built up on and learning is shared to build capacity
     

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Master's in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent related professional experience is preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience in product or data management

  • Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment, coping well with ambiguity

  • Hands on knowledge of travel ecommerce business is preferred

  • Proven success in delivering technology products in a high growth environment

  • Experience in new product development

  • Demonstrated experience as someone who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and influence across cross functional teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills

  • Able to influence the broader organization and community of EG leaders
