Tell us a little about your role and your team.

I am a Big Data Engineer with the Hotwire Customer Engagement Team at Expedia Group. Hotwire is a leading discount travel site and we have tech teams in Austin, Gurgaon, San Francisco and Seattle. Every day we are sending millions of emails and push notifications to customers with the most personalized and relevant trip suggestions, deals and offers from all around the world. It feels great to be part of something that is touching so many people’s lives by enabling so many happy journeys.

What does your typical work day look like?

Normally I start my day by meeting with my team virtually and discussing plans for the day ahead. During this time, we’d also brainstorm around technology issues and best practices. After this, my day is dotted with coding sessions, meeting with different stakeholders and team members. I end my day by having a read about all the best and latest going on in the world of technology.
