We’re looking for a Mobile Engineer III, Android, to join our team on an exciting journey to build the capabilities and foundations that will power the next generation of Expedia’s traveller checkout experiences!
What You'll Do:
Lead collaborative efforts with team members, design counterparts, and peers to solve intricate technical challenges and co-develop innovative solutions.
Deeply understand user needs, contribute to feature prioritization, and provide valuable insights and critiques for continuous improvement.
Architect and implement reusable server-driven widgets using advanced Android technologies like Jetpack Compose and GraphQL.
Drive initiatives to modularize the codebase, optimize performance, and enhance developer experience, ensuring maximum efficiency and scalability.
Write clean, efficient code following object-oriented design principles and contribute to shared libraries and frameworks.
Conduct thorough code reviews, advocate for best practices, and maintain high code quality and flexibility.
Develop and execute automated tests (unit, integration, acceptance) to support continuous integration pipelines and ensure the reliability of the codebase.
Embrace agile methodologies and drive continuous improvement within the software development process.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of experience in Android application development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
Expertise in Kotlin, MVVM architecture, and Android Studio, with proficiency in Jetpack Compose, Dagger 2, and GraphQL.
Strong understanding of client/server architectures, mobile development best practices, and industry standards.
Passionate about building high-performance, user-centric mobile apps and staying updated with the latest technologies and trends.
Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively in diverse teams, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members, drive technical initiatives, and drive continuous improvement based on user feedback and team insights.
