Senior Product Manager - Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Platform

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with platform product management experience to partner closely with the technology and data science teams to be part of building the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML) platform. As a product owner, you will be a significant part of driving the strategy and evolution of a leading platform that can deliver AI&ML at scale into a business the size of Expedia Group.

You will be a key lead for the team that builds a holistic offering that enables Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to quickly and easily build, test, optimize, and deploy models that will power the Partner and Traveler experiences through the Open World EG Platform.

Your goals will include building platform tooling, and automated capabilities that fuel velocity and unlock imaginative new use cases for our data and models. Other duties will include performing market analysis, competitive analysis, authoring product requirement/test documents working with our collaborators across engineering and data science teams.

The ideal candidate will be clear and broad in their thinking and pragmatic in their execution. This role will help push forward the AI&ML offering. You must be able to partner well with a strong ability to bring clarity to disparate teams.

You must be able to clearly communicate issues, ideas, and concepts both verbally and in written form between business and technical parties.

What you’ll do:

  • You will own our internal product that allows a high degree of automation and self-service model building, re-use and re-training. This is built on-top of our internal AI&ML Lifecycle Platform. It is expected that your scope will grow quickly after that to cover multiple areas for the products you own will build a roadmap informed by your stakeholders, and you will communicate a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and partners.

  • As a member of a geographical spread team, you will be building relationships across the organization and ensuring that the direction and alignment of all the roadmaps are maintained within the wider AI&ML Platform.

  • You will help build a center of product excellence to serve the AI&ML Platform Group

  • You will lead discovery across cross-functional stakeholders to develop an understanding of a shared problem. You will make suggestions for solutions and recommend which solutions will achieve the most ideal customer or business outcome

  • Be comfortable with the Build vs. Buy conversation

  • You will use frameworks with some guidance to align stakeholders and leadership on product feature decisions. You will have a point of view and recommended approach to hear and incorporate feedback.

  • You will apply feedback and data from measurements towards product improvements through test and learns and other testing methodologies to positively impact the business (i.e., cost savings, revenue, conversion, etc.).

Who you are:

  • Ability to work independently and keep the synchronization between yourself and the other members of the product team in different time zones.

  • You will be able to establish a product function that will be able to provide clarity on direction and outcomes with minimal external intervention.

  • Previous experience and interest in or around Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning practices so that you can better understand how the model lifecycle works and contribute directly to our work building the platform that can manage that flow

  • Bachelor's, Master’s or Equivalent Experience; Technical degree preferred otherwise relevant experience is applicable.

  • Strong Product Management experience owning multiple product areas including developing the product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market plan.

  • Demonstrates a critical understanding of business processes and challenges, developing solutions to meet unique business needs and objectives.
