Software Development Engineer III

A high performing individual contributor who acts as a mentor to more junior engineers, applies new engineering principles to improve existing systems, and is responsible for leading complex, well-defined projects.

As a developer in Checkout Experience Engineering, you will have the opportunity to build the next generation of Services using range of technologies and platforms, that will feed many of client brands. You will be encouraged to build on the existing platform and deliver scalable, end-to-end solutions using a variety backend technology stacks.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and implement products and solutions that are highly scalable with high quality, clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full technology stack

  • Work collaboratively with all members of the technical staff and other partners to build and ship outstanding software in a fast-paced environment

  • Find opportunities for process and technology improvements, and work towards adoption and implementation

  • Assist with supporting Production systems (includes investigating issues and working towards resolution)

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • 8+ years of experience in the field of Software Engineering

  • Proficient with Object Oriented Programming concepts with a strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Computer Science fundamentals
  • Experience with Java/Kotlin and Spring MVC along with good grasp of OO design with strong design patterns knowledge.

  • Experience with cloud-computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services

  • Understanding of testing and monitoring tools

  • Ability to debug applications

  • Understanding of how teams’ goals fit a business need

  • Exercise creativity and provide alternative solutions to a given problem removing roadblocks and driving issues to closure

  • Create/update documentation for the purpose of sharing knowledge between team members

  • Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique work of self and others
