Senior Tax Analyst - International Tax

Expedia Group is seeking an International Senior Tax Analyst to be based in our London or Prague office (under a 50% remote work hybrid model), reporting to the EMEA International Tax Senior Manager.

You will be an integral member of Expedia Group's International Tax Team and will be involved in the international tax and transfer pricing aspects across Expedia Group’s brands. You will work closely with the global tax team based in London, the US and Singapore, finance, legal, operational and commercial teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Plan, prepare and manage the tax compliance timetable, ensuring that all local direct tax reporting and payment deadlines are met

  • Manage and coordinate the collection of data in response to information requests for preparation of CIT returns

  • Review CIT computations and returns, working with external advisors and internal teams as required

  • Provide tax deliverables in statutory audits and financials review, including prepare/review statutory current and deferred tax provision calculations and notes

  • Support the quarterly and year end US GAAP provision process for group reporting purposes

  • Prepare journal entries and tax account reconciliations

  • Identify and implement opportunities to further improve, innovate, automate and evolve our international tax function using technology (e.g., Alteryx, Power Apps)

  • Identify, implement and document the appropriate process improvements for tax compliance

  • Assist with preparing and reviewing transfer pricing compliance requirements for the US and various local countries, including transfer pricing documentation, various intercompany disclosure forms, and country-by-country reporting and ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy

  • Provide technical guidance to finance and accounting teams to operationalize transfer pricing calculation methodologies

  • Provide support for international tax audits, transfer pricing audits and related controversy

  • Assist with digital service taxes

  • Assist with global tax planning initiatives, transfer pricing and special ad hoc projects, as needed

  • Continuously build and nurture collaborative relationships with tax and non-tax stakeholders (both with internal resources and external advisors)

Who you are:

  • Qualified accountant or 2+ years of international tax / transfer pricing experience in public accounting, equivalent consulting or industry

  • Tax experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm is preferred

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and capable of clearly articulating complex processes

  • Fluency in English is required

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Ability to extract, analyze and review data for tax compliance purposes

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, and similar functionality)

  • Experience with Oracle ERP system is a plus

  • Experience with Alteryx or other automation tools is a plus
