Career Check-in: Mamatha Gulhane
Mamatha Gulhane | Staff Engagement Manager, Sydney Australia
“Travel makes you modest and turns you into a Storyteller.” I embraced a new perspective and understood the importance of travel in life after joining Expedia Group in 2018. Working at Expedia Group as Staff Engagement Manager in APAC, within the connectivity and solutions team, I help partners build robust integration. I found my happy place.
What is your favorite part of your job that excites you the most?
Being in a customer facing role and responsible for successfully managing integration projects from initiation to completion gives me immense satisfaction and feels extremely rewarding that I am making a value added impact on my partners and contributing significantly to the business in APAC.
The second, if not most exciting part about my job, is that I get to work with some brilliant and kind people in my team. The camaraderie is something I look forward to each day, and in typical scrum way, we always keep moving the ball forward as a team.
What makes Expedia Group a great place to work?
People come first. Expedia Group knows how to look after their employees – be it a balance in work and life or balance in driving and supporting partner interest, EG does it all. Even though I work on a different continent as our head office, the leaders do a great job of ensuring teams around the globe are kept informed on the latest developments and offerings – from company objectives to wellbeing offerings, leadership decisions, etc. Throughout my time, I’ve had great advice and encouragement from managers and other leaders in the company. Expedians invest in each other, in both formal and informal ways, and I try to pay this forward.
Why would you recommend a career within EG?
EG truly is one of the few companies which allows you to carve your own career path and thrive with the support from strong leadership. It’s time to find and connect with brilliant minds worldwide, so look no further than Expedia Group.
