Exploring New Roles: My Rotation Gig experience as an Associate Market Manager

Over the past three years, Bo Sun, Associate Account Manager, has embraced an exciting journey at Expedia Group. One that has taken her across two dynamic teams, thanks to a rotation gig opportunity.
Driven by a passion for helping hotel partners overcome challenges and grow their businesses, Bo has thrived in both her roles: first as an Associate Account Manager, and as an Associate Market Manager. Experiencing the partner relationship from both sides has given her a unique perspective, and made her journey all the more rewarding.
Read on to discover how Bo’s career has evolved, what she’s learned along the way, and how each role has shaped her experience at EG.
Bo Sun | Associate Account Manager | Prague, Czech Republic
Tell us about your role and your team.
In my current role as a Partner Growth & Agility (PGA) Associate Account Manager, I support hotel partners across English-speaking markets, helping them succeed by ensuring they offer a full range of products at competitive rates. Each month, our team is assigned a new portfolio based on market strategy, which keeps things fresh and dynamic.
I’m part of the EMEA PGA Agile team, where we focus on boosting hotel competitiveness across the region. That means making sure properties are fully open, visible to travellers, and offering the best possible rates. A big part of my role involves working closely with Market Managers, fellow Account Managers, and cross-functional teams like Connectivity and HPO to ensure hotel listings are fully optimised and ready to perform.
By helping partners address challenges and improve their offerings, we play a key role in keeping our portfolio healthy, and making travel better for everyone.
Tell us about your career journey at EG so far.

In 2025, I took on a new challenge through a ‘Rotation Gig’ (our version of a secondment) and stepped into the role of an Associate Market Manager. I applied because I felt ready to grow, stretch myself, and explore a new side of the business. One of our company values is to “Go get what’s next”, and that really resonates with me. I believe in always learning, pushing myself, and never standing still.
During my time in the role, I managed a portfolio of 110+ hotel properties across northern UK, mainly in the Highlands and Islands. My focus was on building strong relationships with each partner and helping them drive sales on our platform. That meant continuously optimising their listings and ensuring year-on-year growth in production. It was a rewarding experience that gave me a deeper understanding of our partners’ needs, and the impact we can make together.
Tell us more about the the rotation gig, what was the highlight?
The highlight of the rotation gig was building strong relationships with hotel partners, getting to know their goals, supporting their growth, and learning alongside them. By the end of the gig, my portfolio had grown by 25% year-over-year, which was a proud moment and a reflection of the impact we made together.
I also had some standout experiences: hosting a Quarterly Business Review with Hotel Group, attending my first partner event in Glasgow, and visiting the incredible EG Edinburgh office to meet the team in-person. Each moment added something special to the journey.
One of the biggest learnings was gaining hands-on experience in commercial conversations, partner negotiations, and navigating complex situations. This role taught me how to balance strategic thinking with relationship management, skills I’ve brought back to my original team. While the work was closely aligned with my day-to-day, the key difference was managing a fixed portfolio of hotel partners, which gave me a more holistic view of hotel operations and a deeper understanding of partner needs. I’m so glad I tried something new, took on new responsibilities, and developed skills that will benefit my career in the long run.

What is life like in the EG Prague office?
I really enjoy our Prague office, which has been rated as one of the most beautiful offices, globally. The office houses over 500 employees and spans three floors, each with its own unique décor. Every meeting room is themed after a different country, showcasing its most iconic characteristics. We also have free drinks, fruit, snacks, and sweets. I especially love the variety of coffee and tea options. On a personal note, I really appreciate my large computer screen, which makes multitasking much easier and more efficient.
