What does a typical day look like for your team?

A typical day for us involves working closely with the financial departments of various chain hotels, such as Sonesta, to ensure that all outstanding balances for Hotel Collect are promptly collected. We also collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective coordination and implementation of strategies to maximize revenue generation.

What do you enjoy most about working at Expedia Group?

Expedia Group is a company that places a strong emphasis on cultivating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. There is a genuine commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable workplace environment.

Can you share any career and/or personal growth you’ve experienced while at Expedia Group?

When I first joined EG, I was more reserved and self-conscious. With the support I have received over the years, I have been able to grow and push myself beyond my comfort zone. I now have a greater sense of confidence and empowerment, which ultimately contributed to my recent promotion to the position of Senior Collector.

Why do you enjoy working in Springfield?

Working in Springfield provides a valuable opportunity as it allows me to remain close with my family while also enjoying the natural beauty this location has to offer. I love having the ability to spend weekends in the great outdoors alongside my friends and then return to a vibrant and invigorating work environment.

Brittany Berry – Senior Collector

If you could share one thing that makes Expedia Group unique, that people might not know about, what would it be?

I get to work with all different people globally and we are an all-inclusive environment so people feel accepted and can be who they truly are while advancing professionally.

What makes your team special?

Collections brings in revenue for the company, but we also get to develop a relationship with the properties and learn and grow their businesses as well as ours, building a great partnership in the process.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?

Listening to understand and not to just respond. It’s important to ask all the questions because this allows us to be open and share knowledge.

Why do you enjoy working in Springfield?

Being close with my family, I love the community Springfield brings. The city is big enough to provide all your needs and wants but also kind of gives a small-town feel. It’s also pretty cool working in the old airport.

Debi Carcione – Senior Collector

What do you enjoy most about working at Expedia Group?

 The leadership team here at Expedia is one of the best. I have seen a lot of changes over the years and every change has been for the better of the company. Also, the people that I work with are great. The company cares about the people that work here and everyone is treated with respect.

If you could share one thing that makes Expedia Group unique, that people might not know about, what would it be? 

Since I have been with the company for almost 25 years, I can confidently say that Expedia Group has consistently shown they care about their employees’ well-being and development, offering comprehensive benefits, fostering a supportive work environment, and providing ample opportunities for growth.

Why do you enjoy working in Springfield?

I moved from New York to Texas and then to Missouri 38 years ago and I am so happy that I landed in Springfield. From the beautiful seasons, to the affordable living, Springfield is a great place to live.
