The Journey Back to Expedia Group with Shamita Bhardwaj

After spending some time exploring new opportunities, Shamita found herself drawn back to Expedia Group — inspired by the people, the culture, and the chance to make a meaningful impact. Now a Program Manager on the Partner Connect team within Private Label Solutions (PLS) — our B2B arm that brings innovative technology and distribution solutions to partners across the world. In this blog, Shamita reflects on what brought her back, what makes her work so fulfilling, and why she’s excited about what lies ahead.
As part of the Partner Connect team, we’re often described as the growth engine for our PLS partners. We provide world-class, integrity-driven support across the entire partner lifecycle, by using data and human insight to continually optimize our service levels. This results in stronger partner relationships, smoother operations, and better experiences for the travelers they serve. What makes it meaningful for me is that we don’t just react, we also solve with purpose, and we find inspiration in our partners’ success.
In my role as a Program Manager, I make sure our partners’ inquiries are routed efficiently to the right teams, so they can get fast, effective support. I also step in to coordinate when issues are complex or unique, working closely with our global Integration Managers to deliver localized, high-impact solutions. No two days are the same, and that’s what keeps the work energizing.
Looking ahead, I’m excited about how we’re integrating Machine Learning into what we do. We’re moving toward being even more proactive, by identifying patterns in partner behavior and anticipate their needs. It means we can offer smarter, more personalized support, and ultimately help drive stronger B2B growth across our partner network.
Coming back to Expedia Group felt like a very natural decision. I genuinely missed the sense of inclusion here, and how people show up and collaborate. It really is true that at Expedia Group, every voice matters. You’re encouraged to speak up, bring your perspective, and shape the direction of your work. That culture makes a real difference.
What I’ve always admired about Expedia Group is its openness — to new ideas, new ways of working, and different perspectives. It’s what allows us to build solutions that serve a truly global audience of travelers and partners. Being back in that environment, surrounded by passionate and purpose-driven teammates, reminds me daily of the impact we can create together.


Working in PLS adds another layer of excitement. We get to collaborate with some of the world’s most recognized brands, powering their travel offerings with Expedia Group’s extensive supply and technology. Our 2025 strategic priorities are ambitious — aiming to outpace market growth by over 50% by 2027 — and it’s incredibly motivating to be part of a team pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in B2B travel.
But more than goals and growth, what inspires me most is the company’s belief that travel is a force for good. That value drives so much of what we do, and it gives our work real purpose. Whether we’re simplifying complex systems or improving a partner’s day-to-day experience, the impact goes beyond business. We’re helping open up the world — and that’s something I’m proud to be a part of.
