Tell us about your role.

In my role as an Associate Market Manager, learning never stops and creativity is constantly called upon. Each day brings new opportunities to think strategically, solve problems, and collaborate with partners to drive meaningful results. What makes this role truly exciting is the blend of adaptability, ingenuity, and teamwork required to navigate market shifts and unlock growth. The most rewarding part is seeing the tangible impact of our efforts, whether it’s increased visibility, stronger revenue performance, or deeper partner relationships – where your contributions genuinely help shape the success of others.

Tell us about your team.

Our Market Management team in Brisbane oversees the Queensland and South Australia lodging markets, driving performance through strategic partnership and data-led decision making. Our team plays a pivotal role in helping hotel partners unlock the full potential of the Expedia Group platform. From optimizing content and connectivity to crafting targeted promotions and revenue strategies, we empower our partners to thrive in a competitive landscape. What makes our team unique is our diverse experience, collaborative spirit, and shared commitment to excellence. We leverage each other’s strengths to build trusted relationships, deliver meaningful results, and contribute to the broader success of the travel ecosystem.

Why did you decide to apply for a role at Expedia Group and what was your experience of the hiring process?

This role immediately caught my attention because of my background in the travel industry and my passion for helping partners grow. I’ve always admired Expedia Group as a trusted and innovative leader in travel, and I was excited by the opportunity to contribute to a company that’s shaping the way people experience the world. The application process made me feel genuinely valued and that I was being assessed on how I could contribute meaningfully to the team and culture. Each conversation gave me deeper insight into the role, the expectations, and how my own values aligned with those of the company. The process certainly showed me how intentional Expedia Group is about finding the right people.

Tell us about your career journey at Expedia Group so far.

My journey at Expedia Group has been amazing. From day one, the onboarding experience made me feel genuinely supported, included, and trusted, values that continue to shape my experience here. I’m fortunate to work alongside incredible colleagues who not only share their knowledge and experience but also truly care, and value my perspective. It’s a workplace where inclusion is intentional, and where you’re treated like family which I believe is something you simply can’t put a price on. I’ve had some great opportunities to grow and develop. Connecting with hotel partners through events and market visits has provided insights into the industry and helped me sharpen key skills that I’ll carry throughout my career. One standout experience was attending the national face-to-face summit, where I got to meet peers from across the country, exchange ideas, and make connections.

How does your work connect to powering travel?

My work has a direct impact on powering travel. Every decision I make and every partner I support is about enhancing the guest experience. Whether that’s through better visibility, strategic promotions, building trust, or resolving property issues that improve the booking and check-in journey. I see my role as a bridge between partner success and traveler satisfaction and I get to create real value. By helping hoteliers grow their revenue and reach, I contribute to making travel more accessible, seamless, and enjoyable for people around the world.

What advice do you have for how to succeed in your role?

My biggest piece of advice is to stay curious. This industry is constantly evolving and being part of a company that nurtures curiosity means there’s always something new to learn. Keep an open mind – whether you’re navigating successes or challenges, a positive mindset will help you grow through it all. And remember, it’s always okay to ask questions. Learn from those around you, enjoy the journey, and most importantly, stay connected to your passion for travel.
