Pallavi Pandey
Product Manager III | Growth Marketing team | London, UK
Tell us about your team and your role.
I am a Product Manager based in London, building AI-powered marketing technology and attribution systems that help travelers discover experiences across our platforms. My work sits at the intersection of product, ML, data science, and engineering, turning emerging technologies like generative AI into practical tools that help teams move faster and deliver better experiences for travelers. What makes this space interesting is the pace of change. New AI capabilities are emerging quickly, and part of my role is identifying where they can create meaningful value for the business and for travelers.

What excites you about working in technology at Expedia Group? How does data feature in your role?
Travel is driven by discovery – helping people explore new places and perspectives. What excites me about working in technology at Expedia Group is how core it is to enabling that discovery at scale. Our products have an impact on millions of travelers. It’s a great environment for building innovative products while learning from strong cross-functional teams. Data guides almost every product decision – from identifying user problems to evaluating the success of new features. I am passionate about using data to move from intuition to evidence, helping teams build products that continuously improve through experimentation and learning.
What has been your role in Women in Data London so far?
Alongside my product work, I am passionate about supporting inclusive communities in technology through involvement with Women in Data London. As an EG partner for WiD the role involves connecting our internal community with the wider WiD network, bringing event and networking initiatives to life. This includes supporting internal engagement, facilitating connections, and helping plan larger partner events that create opportunities for learning, mentorship, and professional growth.

What excites you about working in technology at EG? How does data feature in your role?
Working at EG allows me to learn, grow, and utilize cutting-edge technologies. We constantly improve our data quality, which helps us understand traveler behaviours and needs, directly improving their experiences.
Why is supporting and elevating women in data and technology important?
Since starting my career, I’ve been either the only woman in my team or one of few. As the gender gap narrows, seeing other women in data and technology, especially in leadership roles, motivates me and inspires me. This is what I love about WiD. I look forward to attending the annual Flagship event, which will leave me inspired and connected to other female colleagues in my industry.
Abhipsa Mishra
Software Development Engineer | Analytics & BI team | London, UK
Tell us about your team and your role.
I work in the Analytics & BI team and we focus mmbon making data accessible and useful for teams across the business. Our team ingests data from upstream system, and prepares it so it can be made available on our analytics platform for key account managers and other stakeholders. In my role, I work on building and maintaining the integrations and pipelines that help move and transform this data so it can be used for insights and decision-making. What I enjoy most is working with data at scale and learning the tools and technologies that help simplify complex datasets and make them meaningful.

What excites you about working in technology at EG? How does data feature in your role?
I’ve always been fascinated by building integrations and seeing how code can turn ideas into something real. Watching a few lines of code evolve into systems that move and transform data still feels a bit like magic to me, and that curiosity is what led me deeper into the world of technology and data. What excites me most is the scale and impact of the work. Technology at Expedia Group powers travel experiences for people around the world, and it’s motivating to contribute to systems that support that global ecosystem. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with large-scale data and collaborate with talented teams to build solutions that make data more accessible and useful.
Data is at the core and heart of what my team does. We take raw data and transform it into something structured and usable for analytics across the business. What I enjoy most is seeing how that data can turn into insights that help people make better decisions.
How does WiD London help create a platform for visibility, connection, and growth?
For me, Women in Data London has been a great platform to connect with other women working in data and technology. Through events, networking opportunities, and conferences, it creates space for people to share ideas, learn from each other, and build meaningful connections. With AI rapidly transforming the data landscape — making data more accessible and enabling greater automation — it’s more important than ever to stay connected as a community. In such a fast-evolving field, having a network like this makes a big difference in helping people learn, adapt, and grow together.
Nevina Dalal
Data Scientist III | Marketing Measurement Analytics team | London, UK
Tell us about your team and your role.
The Marketing Measurement Analytics (MMA) team sits within the Yield & Analytics organization and serves as the engine behind how EG understands, validates, and optimizes the true impact of its marketing investments across all channels. The team’s core mandate is to own accurate, scalable, and comparable measurement of marketing performance — translating raw data into the financial and strategic signals that guide where billions of marketing dollars flow across Paid Search, Metasearch, Social, Display, and Affiliates. Data is pretty much everything in my role, every decision is data driven and options are evaluated to ensure that there is valid data-backed justification for capital allocation being low or high. What makes the work genuinely interesting is that we rarely have the luxury of a clean test to validate our assumptions.

Why is supporting and elevating women in data and technology important?
For me personally, being part of the SteerCo and organising events like our IWD coffee morning isn’t just about putting something in the calendar — it’s about making sure that when someone joins EG and wonders whether they’ll find their people here, the answer is yes, and quickly. Supporting women in data and tech is something I feel personally connected to. Growing up in India, the path into technology was heavily shaped by a culture that channelled most women away from engineering and technical fields. Even with a degree in statistics, when I started my career, I found myself being steered towards supporting work, not building the models. That’s what drives me. I don’t want the next generation of women entering data and tech to have to prove they belong there before they’re allowed to actually do the work. Being involved in Women in Data at EG is my way of making sure there are visible communities, role models, and spaces where that conversation is taken seriously because the field is genuinely better when more people with different perspectives are at the table building the things that matter.
