Introduction to team
Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org.
The Finance Manager, B2B Investment & Cost Strategy is an individual-contributor role that sits at the center of B2B’s investment and cost agenda. This role leads strategic financial projects, investment governance & reviews, and long‑range financial modeling that enable B2B leadership to make disciplined, data‑driven decisions.
You will manage and drive cross‑functional strategic initiatives (including integration of M&A activities), establish investment governance frameworks and rhythm of the business for investment reviews with the B2B leadership team, and own long-range strategic financial modeling to drive investments and cost efficiencies.
In this role, you will:
Strategic projects & M&A integration
Manage and drive strategic finance projects across B2B, from framing the problem and defining scope through analysis, recommendations, and implementation tracking.
Lead the OPEX finance workstreams for M&A integration, partnering with M&A Integration team, B2B Finance LT, and Corporate Finance to translate deal theses into concrete integration plans, financial targets, and performance tracking.
Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders (Finance, Product, Tech, Commercial, HR, Legal) to ensure investment decisions and integration activities are aligned to the agreed financial and strategic objectives.
Own long-range strategic financial modeling on investments & cost efficiency initiatives and partner with B2B finance teams to drive decisions and operationalize in financial planning
Investment governance
Design and maintain investment frameworks, criteria, and guardrails that are consistent with EG and P&T standards but tailored to B2B’s needs.
Define governance routines (cadence, stakeholders, inputs/outputs) for how new asks and changes to existing investments flow through B2B Finance and B2B LT.
Ensure investment cases are evaluated consistently on value, risk, and capacity, with clear documentation and decision transparency.
Partner with B2B Cost Management and Product & Tech Finance, Strategy, and Business Operations teams to keep B2B investment governance aligned to enterprise processes and expectations.
Investment reviews
Establish and prepare recurring investment review forums with the B2B leadership team, including agenda design, prep materials, and decision capture.
Build clear, concise materials that frame trade‑offs, scenarios, and recommendations for new and existing investments.
Track decisions, follow‑ups, and financial impacts from each review and ensure they are reflected in forecasts, plans, and stakeholder communications.
Performance management, forecasting, and reporting
Support monthly and quarterly outlooks for your B2B portfolio, including variance analysis, risk/opportunity tracking, and succinct narratives for senior stakeholders.
Develop and maintain standard reporting and dashboards that provide B2B LT with timely visibility into investment performance, cost trends, and return on capital.
Contribute to annual planning and long‑range planning by connecting investment decisions and integration plans to headcount, spend, and P&L outcomes.
Stakeholder partnership & influence
Act as a trusted advisor to B2B leaders, bringing a clear point‑of‑view on where to invest, where to pause, and how to sequence work for maximum value.
Work closely with B2B FP&A, Corporate Finance, HR, and Business Operations to ensure B2B perspectives are well‑represented in enterprise decisions.
Influence stakeholders through structured, insight‑driven storytelling, not just data, and drive follow‑through on agreed actions.
Experience and qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or similar analytical roles.
Demonstrated experience building robust financial models (including multi‑year and scenario models) to support strategic or investment decisions.
Strong command of financial statements, unit economics, and key B2B / platform metrics (e.g., volume, contribution margin, EBITDA).
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large, complex data sets; experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
Proven ability to synthesize complex topics into clear insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Comfortable operating independently in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments, with strong ownership and follow‑through.
Experience in B2B, platform, or marketplace businesses, ideally within technology or travel.
Prior exposure to M&A (deal support or post‑merger integration) from a finance, strategy, or consulting role.
Experience supporting Product & Technology organizations and familiarity with how product roadmaps and tech investments translate into financial plans.
Familiarity with Workday, Oracle Cloud, and Tableau or comparable planning and reporting tools.
Demonstrated track record of designing or improving investment governance, portfolio management, or capital allocation processes.
