Introduction to the team:
The Workplace Technology (WPT) team is responsible for the delivery and support of business-critical collaboration, hybrid, and workplace technologies for Expedia Group globally. We currently support over 2,000+ conference and meeting spaces (including 1,400+ dedicated video conferencing rooms) and 30 million+ remote and onsite meeting minutes per month. The WPT product portfolio includes both hardware and software solutions, such as Cisco (VTC hardware), Zoom (meetings, corporate voice, and conference/desk booking), Envoy (visitor management), Scala (digital signage), Canon (secure print), plus numerous AV peripherals that run in parallel with these technologies. The primary goal of the Infrastructure and Enterprise Engineer III is to own and evolve the digital workplace technology platform to ensure business continuity, operational excellence, and an exceptional customer experience. This role acts as a senior technical leader and subject-matter expert, driving architecture, standards, and complex initiatives across the global environment and serving as a top-tier escalation point for critical incidents and executive-level events.
In this position you will be part of a dynamic team that partners closely with business stakeholders and neighbouring technology teams to design, implement, and operate solutions that deliver measurable value to our internal customers. You will lead cross-functional efforts, mentor other engineers, and influence the long-term roadmap for workplace technologies at Expedia Group.
In this role, you will:
Design, implement, and operate secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure services and platforms that support multiple products or services across Expedia Group’s technology ecosystem.
Build, configure, and optimize cloud and on‑premise infrastructure components (compute, storage, networking, container platforms, CI/CD, observability) using infrastructure‑as‑code, automation, and standard patterns.
Tests, debugs, and fixes issues within established SLAs, diagnosing infrastructure problems and troubleshooting complex issues across multiple interdependent systems.
Brings together stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop and refine solutions, contributing own recommendations and trade-off analysis.
Thinks holistically across policies, processes, and systems to identify efficiency and reliability improvements across organizational boundaries.
Applies a whole-systems approach to analysis, ensuring structure, people, process, and technology components are identified and addressed.
Gathers and analyzes data and patterns to identify root causes and underlying issues, and researches and recommends detailed solutions
Develops and tests complex or non-routine software and automation to ensure they meet design and reliability requirements.
Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.
5+ years of relevant professional experience.
Solid working knowledge of network services, including DHCP, DNS, and NTP
Experience with enterprise device management for iPads and other iOS/iPadOS devices
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and macOS in large enterprise environments
Advanced experience with SaaS solutions, including configuration, administration, monitoring, and complex troubleshooting
Proven ability to lead technical meetings, design sessions, and cross-functional initiatives
Demonstrated ability to engage with vendors on technology selection, implementation, and support, representing operational and end-user need
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with platforms such as Cisco, Zoom, Envoy, Scala, Miro, or similar technologies
Experience designing or operating global workplace technology platforms in a multi region, multi-office environment
Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for configuration, monitoring, and deployment tasks
Strong track record of improving operational excellence through automation, observability, data‑driven decision making, and continuous improvement of reliability and performance.
Experience integrating or operating AI/ML‑enabled infrastructure or platform capabilities (such as intelligent monitoring, automated remediation, or AI‑assisted operations) in a safe, compliant, and cost‑effective manner.
Depth in one or more infrastructure domains (for example, networking, storage, security, or platform engineering) combined with the versatility to work across full stack infrastructure and enterprise environments, including using AI‑assisted engineering tools to enhance infrastructure design, testing, and operations workflows.
