Software Engineer I

Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the Supply Experience Communications team, part of the Supply & Marketplace organization at Expedia Group. This team plays a critical role in developing supplier tools to manage their inventory and reservations.

As a valued contributor to this team, you will leverage your technical expertise and passion for innovation to design and implement scalable, forward-thinking solutions. Your work will directly impact millions of travelers and partners worldwide by shaping the way they communicate with their travel hosts.

In this role, you will:

• Write, test, and maintain high-quality, modular, and maintainable code
• Debug issues, contribute to system design, and ensure seamless integration across services
• Collaborate with team members in problem-solving, code reviews, and technical discussions
• Apply core computer science concepts like data structures, OOP, and algorithms
• Learn from experienced engineers and seek opportunities to expand your technical skills
• Report on progress clearly and take ownership of assigned tasks
• Participate in Agile practices and contribute to a fast-paced, team-oriented development environment

Experience and Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in software development or related internships/projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proficient in at least one programming language such as Java or Kotlin.
• Familiar with version control systems (e.g., Git) and development tools (e.g., IntelliJ, Eclipse).
• Strong analytical and debugging skills, with a basic understanding of testing, monitoring, and software quality principles.
• A collaborative team player who thrives in a learning environment and embraces constructive feedback.
• Curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn new technologies and frameworks.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $87,500.00 to $122,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $140,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
