Introduction to Team

Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org.

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join our International Tax team in our Bangalore, India office under a hybrid working model. You will support a range of transfer pricing and direct tax activities across planning, compliance, controversy, and reporting, while partnering closely with colleagues across Seattle, Sao Paulo, Singapore and London.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to build depth across both transfer pricing and direct tax. A candidate with stronger transfer pricing experience will be expected to develop core direct tax capabilities over time, and a candidate with stronger direct tax experience will be expected to deepen their transfer pricing skill set. We are looking for someone who is excited by that breadth, enjoys learning, and wants to grow in an in-house global tax role with clear room for development.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of intercompany pricing policies and agreements for services, intellectual property, and financing arrangements.
  • Perform financial, economic, and valuation analyses, including building and maintaining models to support transfer pricing outcomes.
  • Prepare and review transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements, including documentation (e.g., local file, master file), intercompany disclosure forms, CbCR-related support, and local TP forms as required.
  • Review tax computations, supporting workpapers, disclosures, advisor-prepared deliverables, and local statutory financial statements, trial balances, and tax-sensitive financial statement items.
  • Support foreign tax provision calculations and reporting in coordination with the global tax provision team and external advisors, including book-to-tax differences, return-to-provision true-ups, and ASC 740 analysis, documentation, and related calculations.
  • Support finance and business stakeholders and corporate initiatives with technical analysis, written memos, presentations, and operationalization (e.g., supporting year-end true-ups, ensuring TP calculations and intercompany agreements are aligned with actual conduct and accounting entries, validating direct tax and TP positions are appropriately reflected in financial statements and ledgers, and executing tax aspects of restructurings and other business initiatives).
  • Support CIT and TP audits and controversy matters, including data gathering, liaising with cross-functional teams, preparing analyses, drafting responses to tax authority information requests, and supporting meetings with tax authorities and external advisers.
  • Help assess and communicate the impact of legislative and regulatory developments (e.g., OECD, UN, local TP rules, changes in CIT laws, and DST) on Expedia Group’s structure.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize recurring calculations and deliverables, including contributing to automation efforts and broader process improvement across international tax and transfer pricing.
  • Use and help enhance tax technology tools (e.g., AI and agentic capabilities, Alteryx, Power BI/Tableau, Power Automate, SharePoint, ERP/Oracle) to improve data quality, controls, and reporting.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, Chartered Accountant, Master of Tax, LL.M. in Tax, Economics/Finance postgraduate degree) are a plus.
  • Typically 3–5 years of experience in international tax and/or transfer pricing, ideally gained through a combination of Big 4, large advisory, and/or in-house multinational roles.
  • Experience in transfer pricing and/or direct tax compliance, reporting, or controversy matters.
  • We welcome candidates with either a stronger transfer pricing or direct tax background, provided that they are excited to broaden their capabilities across both areas over time.
  • Experience supporting tax audits, controversy matters, or cross-border business initiatives is a plus.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong foundation in accounting and tax concepts, including the interaction between statutory accounts, tax bases, and transfer pricing policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Oracle or other ERP systems, Tableau or Power BI, and SharePoint is preferred.
  • Comfort working with large data sets, financial models, and analytical tools.
  • Experience leveraging AI, automation, or analytics tools to improve data analysis, documentation drafting, and process efficiency while maintaining appropriate review and controls.
  • Experience with digital services tax, withholding tax, and tax technology or automation tools such as Alteryx, Power Automate, or Power Apps is a plus.
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on high-quality, practical outputs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and commercially to non-specialists.Collaborative and team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across cultures, functions, and time zones.
  • Curious, adaptable, and willing to learn new skills, step outside of your comfort zone, and take ownership of projects from scoping through execution.
