Senior Business Development Manager - Media Sales

This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

* For internal applicants currently working at Expedia Group, this role is being offered as a 12-month secondment.

As a Business Development Manager, you will report to the EMEA Director of Business Development and support the optimization of Media Solutions related revenues and aim to meet individual revenue quotas for new business.

This role will cover UK market and manage Destination Management Organizations relationships.

What you'll do:

  • Acquire new accounts at a local/regional level, effectively tailoring approaches to meet the customer’s specific needs

  • Independently develop a pipeline of opportunities for new and existing business for the largest and most complex accounts

  • Responsible for maintaining highest value accounts, identifying new key strategic businesses on a global level

  • Identify business issues impacting multiple teams and develop the rationale for initiating a project or change

  • Develop potential business solutions and tactics and conduct broad analysis to determine the viability of various alternatives

  • Directly accountable for independently owning market strategy and executing the successful negotiation, sale, and renewal of contracts

  • Engage in discussion and arranges agreements that create maximum value and sustainability for all parties

  • Influences internal stakeholders to prioritize new features and functionality to address customer needs, including developing supporting business cases to drive new feature prioritization

  • Deliver continued improvement in revenue contribution through a consultative sales approach

  • Set long-term pricing strategies that maximize account revenue

  • Partners with internal business partners to lead and drive innovation, product development, and initiatives for accounts and/or verticals

  • Conducts advanced analyses to evaluate sales performance and understand strongest and weakest customers, best-selling products, and successful sales techniques

  • Identifies and quantifies opportunities in a complex territory and develops a sales plan for the territory, including a list of high priority customers to target

  • Conducts an ongoing review of the territory plan, referring to it regularly to make sure the plan is on target

  • Lead in all aspects of deal development, including prospecting, sourcing, negotiating, and closing

Who you are:

  • 6+ years of experience within media sales

  • A proven track record of meeting revenue targets

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively pitch and influence at senior management level

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze clients' needs and identify creative solutions

  • Demonstrated ability with which to optimize revenue gains for Media Solutions through creative deals

  • Enjoy interaction with external partners and strive for excellence

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced digital environment is advantageous

  • An excellent understanding of the media and travel markets, current industry state of play and latest developments

  • Highly analytical
