Account Manager, PLS, Madrid

Private Label Solutions (PLS) is the B2B arm of Expedia Group. We open up our supply and innovative technology to businesses looking to take on the world of travel. These businesses, sometimes referred to as our ‘demand partners’, include global financial institutions (e.g. AMEX), corporate managed travel, offline travel agents (e.g. Flight Centre), global travel suppliers (e.g. Delta) and many more.
In this role, you will be responsible for handling PLS’s relationships with our medium existing partners.
You will mainly be focused on servicing medium-sized accounts, but there will also be a requirement to identify which smaller sized revenue partners have the potential to grow into medium or large partners in the future.
You will partner with accounts mainly through remote work, but there will also be some face-to-face interaction.
The portfolio, comprising approximately 6 to 10 accounts, might cover several markets across Northern Europe & Southeastern Europe Region.
You will get to provide leadership to your portfolio of partners, knowing how to successfully navigate the PLS organization and when to involve other teams. You will handle all activity related to your partners and engage and use technology, customer operations, finance, sales support, analytics, and legal teams as necessary.
Partnering closely with the business development, you will ensure a smooth account transition process for medium-sized partners and drive strong post-launch results.
What you'll do
Leading a portfolio of around 6 to 10 partners at any given time in the Northern Europe & Southeastern Europe Region.
You will help our team to implement business strategies and the position of PLS as partner of choice
Accurately diagnose known and unknown partner business needs and you will collaborate with other teams like Marketing, Operations, Technology, Finance, Supply and Site Optimization
Renegotiate and renew contracts with partners to develop mutually beneficial deals for both Expedia and the partner
Identify best practices and proactively share them with affiliate partners
Form strong business relationships remotely (via phone, Zoom, email) and occasionally face to face. Some travel will be required (~10% of your time / 20 - 30 days of travel required per year)
Who you are
Proficiency in English, other European languages would be beneficial, preferably Swedish, Dutch, Romanian or German
Minimum 3 years of B2B Account Management experience in the Travel industry, with strong negotiation skills and ability to build long-term strategic relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
Proven experience working with sales incentives and familiarity with marketing initiatives (SEO, SEM) and analytics.
Skilled in navigating complex organizational structures and engaging board-level stakeholders to drive positive decisions.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with a quick learning ability.
