Air Operations Manager

This might be a fit for you as a Manager in Air Operations Improvement as part of Expedia Group Traveler & Partner Services Platform Organization.

We are searching for a self-starter who enjoys working both independently and as part of a diverse team. Your attention to detail and interpersonal skills and positive attitude will enable you to work effectively with the team, our partners, and vendors. Your keen operational skills will ensure we have the right operating structures in place with streamlining processes and an eye toward increasing automating opportunities.

Other responsibilities include managing projects, writing business specifications, collaborating with quality and training departments, and negotiating mutually agreeable outcomes with internal and external partners. The successful candidate will be able to lead with strategic vision while also pivoting when the business requires direct intervention.

What you will do:

  • Investigate incidents and issues using the technical, functional capability to solve critical business problems. Able to break-down complex information into understandable terminology and actionable concepts.
  • Own the SOX controls for the team and ensure the processes are performed as expected and take part in both internal and external audits.
  • Lead all aspects of process transformation - including discovery, prioritization, current state, future state, and scalability.
  • Drive business case development and realization to tackle largest opportunities driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Apply comprehensive or specialist-level knowledge of process reengineering, continuous improvement - mastering best practices and methodologies to carry out goals.
  • Partner with leadership to align operational improvements and enablement for processes, policies, and products.
  • Build out playbooks for proactively raising issues and BAU opportunities with the aim of reducing vendor partner effort & growing efficiency.
  • Give Subject Matter Expertise and/or deep insights with actionable recommendations based on data insights and analysis.
  • Monitor key performance indicators in alignment with business goals for trend analysis in the constant pursuit of continuous improvement.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years in operations or analysis with proven experience in problem-solving
  • Intermediate/expert level experience with Microsoft Excel functions highly preferred; understanding of macros and VBA preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Attested experience within the travel industry with an understanding of commissions, ticketing, settlement, and ARC/BSP
  • Retain SME of products, technologies, and offerings within the scope of responsibility
  • Know the audience when sharing reports or presentation, use understandable terminology, breaks down complex information
  • Able to use a flexible approach, be a creative, strategic thinker, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances or roles
  • Demonstrate active listening to ensure all viewpoints have been heard and discussed before reaching conclusions, offering guidance, or asserting own views
  • A high-energy and experienced negotiator. Convincing but willing to flex and compromise as appropriate
  • Collaborative yet influential

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $78,500.00 to $110,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $125,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
