Local marketing, Performance marketing, MarTech, data, and analytics are delivered from centralized cross-brand teams to ensure best-of-class capabilities. Marketing works in close partnership with other Expedia Group teams to coordinate delivery of our unique value propositions through every touch point in the customer journey.

Expedia Group’s Global Marketing Communications team is dedicated to developing and executing innovative and effective global marketing across our family of brands. Within this organization, the Communications Planning function is responsible for setting the strategic approach for campaigns across our Services brands.


We are seeking a strategic leader as Communications Planning Manager for the UK, across three of our brands - Brand Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. An enthusiastic person who can contribute to a team environment and wants to be part of an evolving organization. This position requires a self-motivated, flexible individual with strong communication and leadership skills.


The role sits at the intersection of ideas and media, partnering closely with the Brand Planners, Creative Directors and media team to ensure our Communications ideas are properly integrated across channels. A deep understanding of communications platforms is needed as you will be instrumental in driving the rethinking and reimagining of how Expedia Group communicates to new and existing customers across the world.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead day-to-day Communications planning for the UK, across three brands (Brand Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo), developing and executing integrated marketing communications efforts

  • Partner closely with strategy and creative teams so our creative ideas make use of a mix of owned, earned and paid channels

  • Help develop consumer journeys for each campaign or activity and articulate them through clear and concise visual presentations

  • Determine the communications tasks for each campaign and write task briefs that guide messaging and execution tailored for each channel

  • Work with Insights and Measurement team to develop and track measurable campaign KPI’s

  • Work with the media team to ensure ideas are deployed through the proper mix of paid/owned/earned channels

  • Manage 1 direct report

  • Proactively seek out latest media trends, technology, and research

Who you are:

  • Proven experience in a communications planning and/or media planning role on either client or agency side (consumer brands preferred)

  • Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal)

  • Strong understanding of media channels in the UK, couple with a strong understanding of the UK media landscape

  • Strategic and critical thinking skills; ability to see the “big picture” while diving into details

  • Commitment to results in a prioritized manner, balancing projects while maintaining quality

  • Excellent visual story-telling and presentation skills who can communicate effectively, concisely, and tailored to the audience

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with geographically diverse teams

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, highly competitive, and constantly evolving category

  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
