Data Science III, Media Solution Analytics

We are looking for an experienced Data Insight Analyst to support our advertising business known as Media Solutions. We have big goals and even bigger ideas that require passionate people to get us there! In this high impact role, you will derive deep analytical insights that drive media product innovation. You will rely on your analytical proficiency and eye for business to prototype reporting solutions and craft meaningful insights for a distributed team driving media revenue across 10 global travel brands. You will sharpen your skills in many of today's technologies and tools including Jupyter Notebooks, Qubole, Dremio, Tableau and Looker.

You will be part of a tight-nit and outgoing analytics team with opportunities to contribute on a number of exciting initiatives and projects! There will be opportunities to collaborate with product, sales, marketing and finance functions in this position. You will develop innovative solutions that communicate performance metrics, illustrate key trends, and enable complex business analytics. This role is a full-time position working with the Sr. Manager Data Science - Analytics. This position may require periodic travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with partners across Expedia Media Solutions to understand business drivers, processes, and work flows and find opportunities to make valuable contributions with data insights

  • Partner with product, data engineering and reporting teams to implement scalable data foundations and analytics solutions

  • Ensure accurate source control, documentation, testing and quality assurance processes are established, implemented, and followed to maintain high data integrity

  • Design, develop, and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to build awareness of key opportunities and risks, and inform better business decisions

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and apply data visualization techniques and creative formats to effectively engage users and clearly communicate key insights

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field

  • 5+ years with data analysis and developing reporting and dashboard solutions within a variety of tools (e.g., as Tableau, Looker, Power BI etc.)

  • High proficiency in SQL within big data platforms in on-premise and cloud environments (e.g. Hadoop, Teradata, SQL Server, AWS)

  • Proven critical reasoning skills and commercial sense combined with storytelling abilities to easily communicate to technical and non-technical teams

  • Consistent record defining and executing key analysis and troubleshooting with minimal supervision

  • Experience with Python, Scala or R, or any other major machine learning programming language

  • Experience building and maintaining a data science project/product in production environments

  • Understanding and experience with relational and dimensional datasets, data warehouses, and data mining

  • Background in online advertising, e-commerce, web analytics, business measurement or comparable reporting and analytics function
