Director, Strategic Payment Partnerships


The Director of Payment Strategic Partnerships will lead a few highly strategic initiatives from Expedia Global Payments, that will leverage our payment competencies towards value creations for the travelers. While primarily focusing on the relationship, performance of the issuer and the network in these initiatives, this role will serve as the liaison between internal and external teams to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of these initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Stay abreast of commercial, regulatory, and innovative trends in consumer credit, loyalty and payments, be the trusted thought leader for EG (Expedia Group) teams   

  • Use your payment experience and relationships to advocate for scalable, simplified, and customer-friendly solutions with EG cross-functional teams 

  • Ensure EG teams benefits from insights, capabilities, and innovations provided by the issuing banks and the networks

  • Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of strategic priorities, by primarily focusing on the relationship and performance of these external partners

  • Partnering with internal teams to ensure cohesive strategy and approach at EG level, represent Expedia Groups in these important partnerships

  • Clear understanding the partners’ strategy and assets. Calibrate partner/vendor strategy roadmap behind EGP goals and priorities

  • Lead highly transparent and effective partnership with the Issuers

  • Periodical business reviews including QBRs and weekly calls

  • Conduct benchmarking, RFI, RFP or similar kind

  • Perform contract negotiations and lead all aspects of contract performance

  • Executive-level escalations and resolution for partner/vendor issues  

  • Establish critical metrics and governance to constantly optimize performance

  • Value creation between payment and travel ecosystems

Who you are:
 

  • Proven online experience in E-commerce with a focus on global credit card, consumer financial services, or other transaction intensive consumer applications

  • Strong desire to coach, lead and grow a team, a compassionate leader but understands how to hold a high standard, drive accountability and performance

  • A strong negotiator, prior experience in major contract negotiations, a visionary thinker that has strong financial acumen

  • Established experience in working with external partners, with a history of delivering impactful programs with these partners

  • A strong collaborator, builds trust and relationship that enable everyone to do their best, ability to bring together teams or firms that have different priorities and agenda

New York: The total cash range for this position is $196,000 to $274,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $313,500, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
