Manager, Learning and Development
We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Training Manager with a strong background in training team management. This position will be in a fast-paced training organization (TPSP Global Training) and will play an integral role in leading the training team that will develop the agents who support travelers for all of Expedia Group. We are working to continuously evolve the traveler experience with personalized products and services to help all our Expedia Group customers and we can’t wait for you to join us!
With core deliverables on Training team management, New Hire Performance Management, continuous improvement, communications and team building. Specifically, this role will provide training leadership including hiring, onboarding, culture building, training process design and implementation. This is a high visibility position and will be expected to represent training delivery with leadership across Expedia Group.
The position is based in Gurugram, India and reports into Director, Learning & Development. There is no opportunity for remote/virtual participation, but relocation for the right person may be possible with a minimum commitment of time.
What you'll do:
Lead a team of trainers that support the onboarding and continued development needs of agents that support Expedia Group travelers across multiple brands, regions, Channels, LOBs and skills.
Build an amazing, highly motivated, and capable training team
Develop the facilitation skills of the trainers
Partner to design and deliver onboarding programs that connects new team members to the mission of serving Expedia Group travelers
Partner to refine the training curriculum and trainee experience to best prepare this team to improve competence and deliver best-in-class traveler experience
Team supervision: Set clear expectation for facilitation performance and the learner’s experience, lead logistics of trainers, and provide support for new hire classes
Coaching: Recognize positive results, provide constructive and useful feedback, and coach for optimal performance
Learning theory and methods knowledge: Ensure training is conducted in accordance to sound learning methods and adult learning theory; Strong understanding of the learning process

Building Effective Teams: Hold self and team accountable for setting and meeting departmental goals; identify and resolve issues that may impair the team's ability meet those goals

Business Continuity: Ensure the appropriate handling of any business continuity incident that occurs impacting the site or team
Embody Expedia Group values and beliefs and share these both internally and externally
Who you are:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field; or equivalent related professional experience
10 years of relevant work experience; 5+ years as a people manager
Experience leading a training team
Familiarity with various training methodologies (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom, virtual, e-learning, workshops etc.)
Proven experience building a well-functioning team
Time management skills, ability to effectively handle multiple challenging priorities
Strong critical thinking and tactical business skills, with a passion for operational improvement
Strong communication skills with experience in cultivation and maintenance of strong working relationships across multiple business and technical teams
Ability and willingness to travel periodically (domestic and international)
Travel industry experience mandatory
A high-level understanding of call center technologies
Previous experience working across geographies
