Within the CDFS organization, Financial Systems Engineering (FSE) group enables Expedia Group and subsidiaries to conduct business globally while meeting statutory and financial regulatory compliance. In addition, FSP delivers, collaborates, and globally supports more than 21,000 businesses users of the enterprise financial platform. Additionally, we have the Commerce Data group which supplies transactional information across multiple disciplines within Expedia Group for internal analysis and decision making.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly talented Project Manager to work with our cross functional team. This person will dig in and work with teams to drive innovation and performance in systems that touch real people.
Expedia’s Commerce Data & Financial Systems (CDFS) team is looking for a Program Manager III to drive complex technical projects requiring coordination within multiple teams and organizations across Expedia Group. You will proactively identify & mitigate risks to ensure success of the program being passionate about delivering financial and corresponding data solutions. The industry is highly results-oriented but always exciting!


Responsibilities(this is not an all-inclusive list and you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself):

  • Own projects, programs, and/or capability delivery end to end
  • Drive program, project and/or execution plan (team level for programs)
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve program risks, issues, and key decisions
  • Ensuring the use cases/stories are well written and actionable so that the devs on the team have the info they need to be productive
  • Be an interface expert to external teams and facilitate sign off using your excellent communication skills
  • Status communication and program liaison as needed for project/program. Create clear, concise and organized communications for the broader organization, keeping appropriate stakeholders informed (make sure everyone knows what is going on
  • Improve processes, eliminate red tape and be on the lookout for ways to get software into production faster, while maintaining high quality
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle and decide how various agile engineering practices can be used (e.g., in planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing)
  • Lead Agile ceremonies (as needed)


Competencies:

  • Project Management skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies/practices
  • Familiar with basic financial/accounting concepts helpful
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Effectively deal with ambiguity


Experience and Qualification:

  • 4+ years of professional experience managing software development projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related professional experience
  • Able to understand and effectively communicate sophisticated issues and updates to diverse audiences
  • Experience working in an environment that required multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, attending to details, changing direction in rapid response to a fluctuating work environment and prioritizing among multiple projects
  • Proficiency with MS products including Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Worked on and with agile teams preferred
  • Experience working with Jira, Miro, and Confluence helpful
