An opportunity has arisen at Expedia for a SEM Analyst, Performance to join our Search Marketing, reporting to the Sr. Manager, SEM. 

As this is a global role, you will focus on understanding SEM across various markets and our performance within them. The primary focus of this role is to explain and anticipate changes in the Search Marketing keyword auctions across search providers and determine whether those changes are due to competitor shifts, mix shifts in incoming traffic or other site or behavioral changes. This would suit an applicant who loves data and has an in-depth knowledge of how to analyze SEM accounts to find needles in haystacks and areas of additional efficiency in hitting financial targets. 


Position Overview:

You will focus on reporting performance against financial targets for the Vacation Rental business across all Expedia Group brands. This role would suit an experienced analyst within the performance marketing space looking to make their mark in a fast-paced and ever-changing large marketing channel. 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze daily SEM performance across the globe by monitoring KPIs and identifying the root causes of variance to trends or targets  

  • Lead the reporting and analyses of SEM data in the Vacation Rental space to better understand how various brands and marketing channels impact each other  

  • Provide performance reporting on marketing initiatives that translate data sets into actionable results that align with business objectives  

  • Deliver analysis and insights that help the team optimize SEM programs 

  • Collaborate across departments on SEM initiatives


Competencies:

  • Ability to self-serve data to support analysis – background in SQL preferred 

  • Ability to summarize and present findings in layman terms even when the process to come to these findings is complex 

  • Data driven decision making, you look to the data first to support or refute hypothesis 

  • Experience in complex data interactions and large data sets required 

  • Experience in performance marketing preferred 


Experience and Qualification:

  • 3+ years of Analyst Experience
