Sales Manager
Are you a data driven, innovative and master storyteller looking to join a team at the forefront of travel? We are looking for a goal-driven and passionate self-starter to lead our sales strategies, initiatives and programs. This individual will play a critical role in identifying opportunities to maximize revenue and oversee the planning, development and execution of sales activities/campaigns across North America by doing the following.
Identify and drive focus on greatest sales opportunities across Expedia Cruises Franchisees and Vacation Consultants.
Sets direction to maximize revenue growth and incremental sales across strategic promotions, exclusive offers, new products and tactical opportunities
Unify cross-functional departments across sales and promotions initiatives and manages a team of 2 program managers across promotions, training (e.g. onboarding, sales excellence etc.) and recognition
Is the sales leadership voice to Expedia Cruises’ Vacation Consultants and driving sales engagement/culture
Owns build out and execution of Vacation Consultant recognition program in addition to the framework and communications plan to further support a sales culture
What you’ll do:
Leads organization in key sales opportunities and drives alignment and engagement around top priorities
Identify Consultant need states for sales support, tools, learning and works with key stakeholders to ensure these needs are addressed
Works with the Promotions team to engage Consultants in selling communications and tools (e.g. Call Lists, Sales Aids, Training)
Identifies opportunities and/or risks for sales initiatives and is accountable for results
Partners with Finance, Analytics and Franchise Performance Coaches to define sales results goals, targets and reporting
Spearhead sales/selling projects and establishes sales incentives
Develops project plans, defines timeframe, and prioritizes tasks to achieve project milestones and deliver intended objectives
Monitors progress to meet project milestones, timelines, specifications, and requirements
Utilizes data to identify trends, uncover opportunities/risks and to drive decisions
Monitors and shares insights on industry and competitor best practices
Leads sales huddles with internal stakeholders to kick off initiatives, sales calls and Consultant facing events (e.g. rallies)
Aligns internal stakeholders to a common sales purpose and goals - manages sales efforts across marketing, supply, field operations and learning & development
Establishes a respected sales voice with the Franchisees and Consultant and continuously builds strong relationships across the team and organization
Be an advocate for salesexcellence and shared out impact/success stories
Engages Franchisees and Consultants in prospecting with their existing and new leads
Who you are:
A natural knack for rallying others around common goals and a strong track record of exceeding sales targets
Strong communication skills that can inspire others to take action
Previous sales experience and/or experience working with travel and travel agents
Excellent organizational skills and project management skills
Ability to effectively collaborate across functions and departments
The ability to see connections across data, events and trends
Demonstrates a passion and ability for continuous improvement
Must be comfortable in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment
Ability to travel when needed (including travel outside of the US and Canada)
Be productive within a flexible working arrangement of home-based office and onsite office, splitting your time equally between both
Best in class project management and organizational skills
