Senior Finance Analyst, Risk and Compliance

Are you an energetic professional that wants to be part of Expedia’s fastest growing brand? Are you interested in problem solving and handling governance, risk and controls (GRC) initiatives with focus on sanctions compliance for Expedia for Business (E4B). If that is the case, the E4B Controls & Initiatives team is for you.

In this role you will play a key part in ensuring effective risk management for E4B sanctions compliance initiatives in end-to-end operations. This role establishes high standards for business controls and regulatory compliance oversight through partnering with E4B and Expedia Group team members (e.g., Sales, Enterprise Risk & Security, Legal) to guide our ongoing business practices.

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinate E4B’s sanctions risk assessment program and attestation to ensure controls are operating effectively

  • Maintain E4B’s written practices outlining the compliance program

  • Work closely with multiple teams and our travel partners

  • Ensure that relevant recordkeeping procedures adequately account for regulatory requirements of sanctions programs

  • Acquire a good understanding of systems and processes used by different line of business to ensure proper sanctions compliance throughout the E4B environment

  • Assist the internal audit team in their review on sanctions compliance

  • Perform, monitor or directly manage clear and effective internal controls pertaining to identifying, interdicting, calling out, and reporting activity prohibited by sanctions regulation, as required

  • Participate actively in remediations needed with product, legal and operational teams

  • Coordinate and raise blocking issues to senior management when required

  • Communicate program’s policies and procedures to E4B staff, ensure program material is accessible to all relevant team members

  • Support and communicate regular reviews of the sanctions compliance program for our executive leadership team

  • Work with our legal counsel to stay abreast of global regulation and help translate into operational requirements or updates for our process owners

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s in related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • A minimum of three years of experience working in global corporate environments with experience in regulatory compliance and audit; experience in the area of governance, risk and controls (GRC) and related practices

  • Knowledge of data management, technology and systems a plus

  • Professional “can do” work ethic, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and resolve conflicts

  • Proactive mindset, enabling future issues to be resolved beforehand

  • Ability to simplify and solve complex problems

  • Ability to make and influence decisions using data and good business judgement

  • Ability to partner effectively with team members from diverse functional areas & backgrounds to embed effective practice within the business

  • Ability to work both independently as a self-starter and as a team member

  • Committed to building effective working relationships across the organization

  • Receptive and adaptive to a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment

  • Strong verbal and written communications
