Senior Strategy Analyst

Expedia's Strategy team is looking for an analyst to help us deliver the best travel experience on the web. Do you want to help people go places? Come travel with us!

In this role, you will bring skills in critical thinking and detailed analyses to help us solve the next generation of online travel challenges. Sitting within the Product and Technology organization, this role supports Expedia's Central & Platform Strategy Team in setting objectives and priorities, including providing product/platform direction, investment priorities, progress reporting, competitive analysis, and long-term planning.

The Strategy team works with local and global teams to set strategy and drive business goals. You will play a key role in leading company-wide strategic projects while working across with senior members of the Marketing, Product, Technology, Account Management, Central Planning and Finance teams and senior executives. We are looking for an effective strategic thinker, relationship builder and communicator, to drive support across a broad range of fields and personalities. Most importantly, you are a creative problem solver, comfortable with structuring, conducting & presenting complex data, analysis & insights, with an eye for detail and a keen focus on results.

What you'll do:

  • Help craft and deliver strategic projects, plans and roadmaps using creativity, backed by data and an understanding of customer experience, industry, and ecommerce

  • Work as part of a team of strategists embedded with product owners and technologists and collaboratively across teams to devise analytical approaches and uncover robust, data-driven insights

  • Structure & develop analyses & analytical models that are intuitive, easy to use/understand, comprehensive & robust, and be able to present these through a variety of mediums (eg. verbally, via powerpoint, via excel etc)

  • Assist with implementation of processes, tools and frameworks, including identifying best practices, training stakeholders and managing change

  • ​Frame strategic trade-offs & communicate well both verbally and in writing, share information and ideas with others, listen carefully and considers what others have to say, including differing viewpoints

  • Prioritize tasks, develop good work procedures, manage time well, handle information flow and spend much of your time and resources on high priority items

Who you are:

  • 4+ years in consulting or related work

  • Independent, self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment

  • Comfortable operating in & guiding teams through complex, uncertain problems in a robust, structured and transparent manner

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, critical thinking & presentation skills alongside excellent attention to detail, without losing sight of the big picture

  • Experience defining, structuring & executing analyses with minimal direction

  • Natural team player, able to work across many stakeholders across disciplines and seniority levels

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate issues and influence others internally and externally, including experience communicating complex information to senior leaders

  • Proficient understanding of e-commerce and travel a plus
