From Campus to Corporate: Top 5 Highlights from the Graduate Program

Commercial Graduate, Stella, first arrived at Expedia Group in 2022 as an Intern while studying at the University of Warwick. Her passion for travel brought her back in August 2023, this time as a full-time member of the Graduate Program.
Now, as she wraps up her time on the program and prepares to transition into an exciting new role at EG, Stella takes a moment to reflect on the experience so far. From building strong partnerships as a Partner Success Associate on the Lodging team in her first year, to diving into the world of experiences as an Associate Activities Account Manager in her second, each rotation has offered unique opportunities for growth.

Tell us about your team and your role.
I’m currently part of the Activities Account Management team, which helps travelers discover and book unforgettable experiences, from famous attractions to hidden local tours, across our Expedia brands. Our team builds strong relationships with partners worldwide, helping them optimize and showcase their offerings to inspire adventures. We thrive on working with a diverse group of partners and colleagues, sharing ideas openly and learning from different markets and perspectives. Our team is truly global, with members based in London, Sydney, Hawaii, New York and more, giving us a broad perspective on what makes travel exciting for everyone, everywhere. Above all, it is a fun space to work in because we sell experiences that help people explore, connect, and create lasting memories, which is the heart of what travel is all about.
As an Activities Account Manager, I am responsible for managing a portfolio of partners across the APAC region. My role involves helping partners ensure their experiences are optimized and performing at their best on Expedia platforms. I work with them to enhance visibility, optimize pricing and availability, and ultimately drive growth, both for their businesses and for the traveler experience. Day-to-day, I analyse performance trends, identify growth opportunities, negotiate commercial terms, and collaborate with internal teams. It is a dynamic role that combines relationship management with commercial decision making, and no two days are the same. What I love most is the tangible impact of the work. The partnerships I manage help open the world to travelers and enrich their journeys with memorable experiences. It is a fun and unique part of the business, and we often get to experience them ourselves, too!

Why did you want to join Expedia Group originally?
Other than my love for travel, I originally wanted to join Expedia Group as an intern because I saw it as an opportunity to gain real exposure to commercial client interactions early in my career, something many other companies didn’t offer. I was excited to work in a fast-moving environment where I could learn by doing and contribute meaningfully from day one. During my time on the PLS team as an intern, I really valued the way the team encouraged curiosity, simplicity, and bold thinking. I enjoyed the experience so much that I decided to un-enrol from a planned Biochemistry Master’s degree and return to EG as a graduate. It felt like the right place to build a career, where I could keep growing and be supported in choosing fearlessly what was next for me.
My top 5 highlights from the Expedia Group Graduate Program
- Making a Real Impact. From day one, I’ve been trusted to make decisions that help drive growth and improve how travelers connect with unforgettable experiences around the world. That sense of purpose extends beyond the day-to-day role. One of my personal highlights was leading a Month of Caring project supporting elderly people living with Alzheimer’s. EG empowers us to make a positive impact.
- Joining an Inspiring Cohort. Starting alongside a group of talented graduates has been a great experience. We support each other, learn together, and celebrate each other’s wins. From great socials to everyday collaboration, the friendships we have built go beyond work.
- Continuous Learning and Development. I have developed my abilities in data analysis, negotiation, creativity, and partner management through hands-on experience. On top of this, there are great resources available to support continuous learning, such as access to Udemy courses and opportunities to pursue certifications in areas like data, project management, and leadership. Having this flexibility to tailor your learning means you can explore different interests and strengthen the skills that matter most to your growth.
- Building Deep Knowledge of the Travel Industry. Every day brings new insights into how the travel industry works, from building partnerships to understanding traveler behaviour across markets. One of the most exciting parts has been the chance to travel for work and experience the global side of the business. With more than 70 offices worldwide, I even got to work from the Hong Kong office, giving me a whole new perspective.
- Support and Mentorship. Throughout the program, I have had fantastic support from my manager, mentors, and colleagues. Their guidance and encouragement have empowered me to take on complex projects and continue developing both professionally and personally. Through regular mentoring sessions, I’ve been able to push outside my comfort zone and that has helped me grow so much this year. I have also had the chance to give back by mentoring newer interns and grads, which has been rewarding.

Why would you recommend a career at EG?
I would highly recommend a career at Expedia Group because it offers a unique blend of meaningful work, personal growth, and a supportive culture. The Intern and Graduate Programs both give you real responsibility from day one, with opportunities to make an impact on projects that help connect travelers with unforgettable experiences. What really stands out is the emphasis on learning and development – through rotations, mentorship, and hands-on challenges, you grow your skills and explore different parts of the business. Finally, the people are what make EG special. You’re surrounded by passionate, talented, colleagues who support each other and celebrate successes together. If you want a career that combines innovation, impact, and a welcoming environment, EG’s Intern and Graduate Programs are a fantastic place to start.
