Candidate Journey
You’ve applied, successfully passed the Strengths-Based Assessment, and have been selected to move forward to the next stage of the process: the HackerRank assessment. Our team will review results, identify top candidates, and extend invitations to the final interview stage. The interview stage includes two virtual interviews with members of our team and will focus on both your technical and behavioral skills. Throughout the process, we’re excited to learn more about you - and to give you a clear, authentic look at our team, our culture, and what it’s like to build your career at Expedia Group.
A Note on Timing
Timelines can vary depending on open roles and candidate volume at each stage of the process. Please know that your recruiter is doing their best to keep you updated as often as possible. We truly appreciate your patience and kindness throughout the process, and we will share an update as soon as we have more information. If you are not immediately selected for an interview but did well on the assessment, your application will remain active until we are able to either move you forward or notify you otherwise.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Duration: Depending on your role profile, we recommending setting aside the following time to complete the assessment: Data Science & Analytics - 60 minutes, Security Engineering and Software Development Engineering + Specializations- 90 minutes, Cloud Engineering - 120 minutes.
For the problem solving and coding questions, you can choose from the languages available in HackerRank.

HOW IT WORKS
To begin, click the Start Test button in the HackerRank email you received. If you do not see the email in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folder. You can complete the questions in any order that works best for you. There is no penalty for skipping a question and returning to it later. Please plan to complete the assessment in one sitting, as you will not be able to save your progress and come back later. To get familiar with the coding environment before you begin, we recommend trying the sample questions.

TEST SPECIFIC INFORMATION
As mentioned above, you are welcome to use any programming language available in HackerRank. Each coding question will default to C, but you can change it to your preferred language.
If the code editor includes a function signature, you only need to complete that function. We will take care of the main function, headers, and any additional setup. If full code is required, this will be clearly stated in the editor. All inputs should be read from STDIN, and all outputs should be written to STDOUT. If you are using Java, please use Solution as your class name. You may also print to the console while debugging using the appropriate print command for your chosen language. -

WHAT TO EXPECT
Duration: The recommended time to complete the test is 120 minutes. However, you have 150 minutes to complete this once you start.

HOW IT WORKS
Simply click on the Start Test button on your email from HackerRank to commence the assessment. Please check your junk mail if you cannot find the email from HackerRank. You can go through the test as you prefer, there won’t be any negative marking if you skip a question and go back to it at a later stage. You will need to complete the test in one sitting as you will not be able to save your answers and come back later. To familiarize yourself with our coding environment we recommend that you try our sample questions.

TEST SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Make sure that the submission format is followed correctly. We have provided an example sample_output.csv file on HackerRank that you can compare against. You will be able to view this in HackerRank. The format of the test dataset may not be consistent with the format of the training dataset - the data types of each column might not be consistent!
