This Senior iOS Engineer position is part of the Search Entry Experience which sits within our Technology division. This team develops and optimizes the search form and other critical search entry points for our websites and mobile apps. We leverage cutting-edge technologies like machine learning, natural language processing and AI to bring a personalized experience to our customers. In this role, your expertise and passion for innovation and implementing industry-leading solutions will improve the experience of millions of travelers each year.
In this role, you will:
Help lead our iOS development team and actively participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, testing and roll-out, and support.
Be part of evolving and growing the common platform underlying our mobile apps – design system, shared UI components, analytics, and more.
Work closely with the rest of our globally distributed native mobile developers, helping to break apart monolithic apps and improve platform capabilities to meet their needs.
Facilitate and contribute to discussions that result in simple, scalable, and reliable system designs. Help our teams operate efficiently and collaboratively to build apps that are performant, compact, intuitive, and maintainable.
Find creative and simple solutions to challenging problems, with a focus on getting things done and a test & learn culture.
Write clean, coherent, well-documented code.
Continually strive to improve our development and delivery processes.
Enhance a dynamic and close-knit software development team committed to mutual learning through peer code reviews and innovation.
Teach and mentor junior developers in project implementation methodology.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of experience in iOS software development with a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience with a Master's degree.
Deep understanding of iOS development and SwiftUI.
Strong technical proficiency, capable of problem solving and applying critical thinking - Understanding of software design principles, algorithms and data structures.
Experience architecting scalable, modular, and maintainable iOS mobile architectures, leveraging common design patterns such as MVVM, VIPER.
Expert in API integration, Performance & Memory management.
Experience with agile development methodologies and working in an agile environment.
Proven ability to collaborate among peers, leaders and across functions and business groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience integrating iOS applications with GraphQL APIs, including designing data queries, handling network responses, and optimizing for performance and reliability.
Proven ability to collaborate with backend teams and contribute to backend services developed in Java or Kotlin, understanding backend architecture and implementing end-to-end mobile features.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
