Megan Dawson joined Expedia Group in January 2022, and works in our Springfield office as a Senior Finance Manager. Read on to find out more about Megan’s experience at EG, and what life at EG could look like
for you on our Finance team.

Tell us about your career path at Expedia Group so far?

I originally joined EG as the Senior Finance Manager of Accounting Operations in Expedia for Business (E4B). E4B was an amazing space to learn about the culture, and team spirit that Expedians value and display.

Now I am overjoyed to be a Senior Finance Manager for Strategic Product & Tech. It’s fulfilling to contribute to the growth of our talented FP&A teams in Springfield. I’m especially grateful to work for a company that champions personal and professional development. The unwavering support and encouragement from my manager to pursue new opportunities and “Go Get What’s Next” in my career truly exemplifies the exceptional leadership at EG.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My schedule adapts to the team’s financial cycle. Early in the month, I prioritize closing and forecasting tasks. The rest of the month focuses on learning, team development, process improvement, and providing strategic support to the Cloud business unit.

How has working at Expedia Group contributed to your development?

Earning my Master’s degree while working at Expedia Group was a fulfilling experience. My managers were incredibly supportive, enabling me to balance my academic pursuits with my day-to-day responsibilities. Notably, Expedia Group offers exceptional benefits for continuing education, creating a win-win situation for both employees and the company.

Why do you enjoy working from our Springfield office?

Springfield has such a beautiful mix of people, cultures, and viewpoints. It is also a sweet spot of both urban and rural environments.  This mix provides freedom to slow down and enjoy life or be active with a plethora of activities and venues for people with varied backgrounds, hobbies, and interests. 

What is your favorite type of vacation?

The beach and anything by the water has always been a place of peace and rejuvenation for me. My favorite being a trip to Playa Mujeres, Mexico with my husband. The ability to take time together to breathe, focus, and unplug from the busyness of life made it the standard for all future travel.
