One Week With Aspasia Drizou – Pride Board Member

Hello! I’m Aspasia Drizou, a Senior Client Success Manager on Expedia Advertising’s Reach Ops team and Events Chair of our Pride IBG. I’ve been with the company for about seven years, first working out of our Toronto office and now living in Athens, Greece. Join me for an exciting week during Pride month!
Monday: Start of the Week

It was a busy week ahead, especially with our main Pride event scheduled for Wednesday. I started the day mapping out the key tasks that would keep everything moving and made sure every detail for the celebration was set. I confirmed that the catering would arrive right on time at 12:45 p.m., then checked what decorations we needed to turn the office into a colorful Pride space. With the agenda already filling up with Pride board calls, campaign‑performance checks, and final prep for the Athens Pride brunch I knew the next few days would be anything but quiet, but I was excited to see it all come together.
Tuesday: Call with the Pride Board

During Pride Month we hold a weekly Pride Board kickoff to review every activation planned for the month and to clear any outstanding items and today. This year’s theme, Our Pride, Our Power, anchors on a Global Panel where leaders from across the company will discuss how authenticity, inclusion and open collaboration strengthen our teams, create better experiences, and generate meaningful impact for employees, travelers and partners worldwide.
In the meeting I highlighted upcoming events from other Expedia offices, including our own celebration tomorrow at the Athens office. Keep reading to find out what our event was all about!
Wednesday: Pride Brunch

Today was the day! Ahead of the Athens Pride Parade and in collaboration with our Pride IBG, I hosted an educational Pride Brunch. You know, we might be a small office, but we are definitely a mighty one! We decked the space out with rainbow colored flags, and streamers, and by around 1 p.m. we were ready for food. Everything was delicious, including the fresh pastries and the sweet, rainbow‑layered cupcakes.
I was lucky enough to walk everyone through the different meanings behind the Pride flags and the history behind each design. The room was attentive, and the questions started flowing. For example, did you know the original Pride flag had two extra colors—hot pink and turquoise, that were later removed for practical reasons? The more you know! It’s crucial to understand our history and the struggles our community has endured so that we can live freely and proudly today.
It’s amazing to be part of a team that not only talks about inclusivity but fully embraces it, creating an environment where anyone can feel they belong, no matter their differences. Seeing colleagues laugh together and celebrate each other made me realize just how powerful a supportive workplace can be. I’m grateful to be part of this team and can’t wait for the parade on Saturday!

Thursday Turnaround: From Dip to Surge
Thursday started strong. As a Client Success Manager, my job is to monitor a campaign’s performance and make sure everything is on point delivering a solid click‑through rate (CTR) and meeting our targets. While working on a client’s campaign, I noticed that performance had slipped a bit over the past few days, a typical hiccup and fully manageable.
I ran a detailed performance report, identified the key areas where we were underperforming, and drafted a set of optimization opportunities to boost our KPIs. After reviewing the findings, I hopped on a call with the client to walk them through the data, explain the corrective actions we’re taking, and reassure them that we’re back on track for a great‑result campaign.
By the end of the day we had implemented the first round of optimizations. The client was happy with the proactive approach, and I felt confident that we’re on a good path to not only recover the lost momentum but surpass our original goals.

Friday: Goal Setting Day

Friday was finally here, and I was ready to review the goals I set at the start of the year for the mid‑year check‑in. I found a few quiet hours to look back over the last six months and noted what worked well and what could be better in the next half and used the same time to give thoughtful feedback to my teammates.
After that, and with those insights in hand, I drafted new goals for the upcoming months that align with both my personal development plan and the Reach Ops team’s objectives.
It felt great to close the week after our Pride celebrations and packed agenda and headed into the weekend feeling energized and ready to tackle the next set of challenges.
