Mobile Engineering at Expedia Group
By joining a Mobile Engineering role at Expedia Group, you’ll collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to build seamless, intuitive experiences that help travelers explore the world, one journey at a time. What Interviewers Look For
Our interviewers are looking to understand how you think, what motivates you, and how your experience aligns with the skills and competencies needed for the role. They’ll also be evaluating how clearly you communicate, how you approach problem-solving, and how effectively you collaborate with others. If a question is unclear, feel free to ask for clarification or have it repeated.
During the interview, you should expect to talk through your thought process out loud. Be prepared to share examples of projects you’ve worked on, the solutions you contributed to, and the impact of your work. As you answer, focus not only on getting to the right outcome, but also on showing how you evaluate problems, make decisions, and work with others along the way. -
Interview Topic: Problem Solving, Data Structures, & Algorithms
This interview will assess your problem-solving approach and ability to identify optimal solutions, while testing your coding skills, decision-making, and understanding of data structure concepts. You may also be asked questions related to the EG behaviors: Traveler First, Think Big, and Succeed Together.
During this interview, you can expect to talk through your thought process out loud. We encourage you to not only focus on finding the correct answer but to also demonstrate your problem-solving approach and how you collaborate within a team. -
Interview Topic: Mobile Competencies
This interview will focus on your experience with mobile development concepts across Android and iOS, including how you approach building, debugging, and improving mobile applications. We also encourage you to review core mobile engineering fundamentals, such as platform-specific considerations, application architecture, and best practices relevant to creating reliable, user-friendly mobile experiences.
You may also be asked questions related to the EG behaviors: Operate with Excellence, Ownership Mindset, and Succeed Together. -

Virtual Tips
Join the interview five minutes early, choose a quiet space, and test your connection in advance. Please keep your camera on during the interview to help build connection and show that you’re engaged in the conversation.
We also value the authenticity and originality of responses during the interview process, so we ask that you do not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to answer questions. Genuine, personal insights are important for a meaningful evaluation.

Who will be my interviewers?
Interviewers are selected based on their level, role profile, and completion of required trainings. However, while they’ll be Expedia Group employees in the role profile you're applying for, please note that they may not be from the specific team you would join. -
I am interviewing for more than 1 position at Expedia Group. Can I complete just one of the interviews?
No, it is important to complete the processes stated per profile as each role has different requirements. Interviewers will assess alignment based on the role profile specified. -
I am interviewing or have received another offer with a competing timeline. Can I get my hiring decision expedited?
Should you have other competing offer deadlines, please let your recruiter know as soon as possible and they will let you know if an expedited hiring decision is possible. -
Do I need to be on camera for my interview?
Yes, we request your camera to be on during each interview. -
My interview is tomorrow, and I have not received details regarding links or names of my interviewers. What should I do?

Am I allowed to thank the interviewers after the interviews are complete?

Depending on availability, your recruiter may offer an opportunity to relay interviewer feedback following the final interview rounds.
