Tell us about your career journey at EG so far

My journey in the travel industry took an exciting turn in 2016 when I joined Expedia Group. After gaining valuable experience at EMAAR, a leading regional chain here in Dubai, receiving that Expedia Group offer felt like a dream realized. I started as a Market Associate, supporting partners across the UAE’s diverse Emirates. The energy shifted when I moved to the Dubai team, where partner engagement truly sparked. Seeking a new challenge, I later embraced the role of an E-commerce Manager at the stunning ME Dubai hotel. There, I honed my skills, optimizing the property across all channels. But Expedia Group called me back in 2023, and I returned as an Associate Market Manager. This new role, combined with my recent hotel-side experience, has been invaluable. I now connect with my partners with a deeper understanding and a stronger sense of trust.

What does a typical working day in the office look like for you?

Living in Marina makes my commute a breeze – a quick metro ride straight to the office! First things first upon arrival? A refreshing glass of water to kickstart the day. Then, it’s a warm “Hi” to my fantastic colleagues before diving into emails and mapping out my tasks.

Office days are made even better by the incredible food options right in our building. If I’m not out for meetings, you’ll likely find me downstairs grabbing a delicious lunch to enjoy with the team. And who can resist a quick foosball break now and then to recharge before getting back to work? It’s a great mix of productivity and a genuinely enjoyable atmosphere here at EG.

What is EG life like in the Dubai office?

There’s a unique buzz about life in the Expedia Group’s Dubai office. Perhaps it’s the fascinating blend of cultures, with colleagues hailing from every corner of the globe, bringing their unique stories and energy. Our 23rd-floor location offers a daily spectacle – from the intricate fronds of the Palm Jumeirah to the elegant curve of the Burj Al Arab and the endless flow of life on Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s a view that never gets old. The office itself feels open and airy, fostering a sense of connection. And let’s be honest, being just a stone’s throw from the metro is a lifesaver in a city as dynamic as Dubai, where navigating the increasing traffic can be a challenge. It makes getting here and connecting with the team so much easier.
